At its core, the Charlie and Lola books depict the very real and affectionate relationship of a brother and sister. Precocious Lola’s issues are met with empathetic and imaginative responses from her lovely big brother Charlie, without the slightest hint of sappiness. And by some genius, the series appeals to boys and girls, 2-year-olds and 6-year-olds. They are the perfect books to give and read to siblings.

As the title suggests, Look After Your Planet, tackles the topic of caring for the environment, and will be a great conversation-starter. Many littlies (not to mention me) will relate to Lola in this story who ‘loves keeping things – all kinds of things’. Charlie teaches Lola what the word ‘recycle’ means and explains why it is important. A tree counter poster comes with the book to encourage kids to recycle just like Lola.
