Songbirds is the title of a very special CD. An acoustic compilation album of original songs by female artists in south coast region of NSW. These recordings represent the diversity and breadth of female talent in the Shoalhaven; the passion and youth of emerging singers; the soulfulness and depth of experienced artists; the joy and musicality of women working together.

We will be staging a special evening showcasing our artists and the Songbirds CD.

We wondered why we hadn't seen our friend from the Valley for a while??? And now we know why. She has been very busy creating a little eco-haven, Rectory Park Cottage, which is a beautiful timber cottage set on a quiet and idyllic ½ acre with a public reserve and pond at the back of the property in Kangaroo Valley about 2.5 hours drive south of Sydney.

Everyone loves a garage sale and ours was no exception with people rolling up right on the dot of eight to grab a bargain. We could not believe how much stuff we moved and we're so glad that we did not have to load it back up and send it back home to where it came from. All that was left was a funky chair (which we claimed for the back deck), some cushions and a couple of random things that we bundled into the car and dropped to the local Vinnies.

One Wise Owl has made a new friend... with the peeps at Scrap Shop in Bomaderry. Scrap (Shoalhaven Creative Re-use Action Program) Shop kinda works as a Reverse Garbage making all kinds of wonderful things using materials like timber off-cuts, left over wool and coffee sacks to make things like bath mats, owl tea-cosies (how cute) and funky cushions.

The Scrap Shop is run by an energetic bunch of creative and talented volunteers and is also supported by Work for the Dole participants,

If you have not already been to the Jindy Andy Village in Pyree, you may not realise that One Wise Owl has neighbours. Grouped together in a rural country setting lives an eclectic cluster of shops and we can't wait for Ocean's Breeze Soy Candles to be just next door.
